The "Girl" Bedroom

I know you've been waiting in anticipation for pictures of the "girl" bedroom.  Well, you can breathe easy knowing that they are here for you to see at any time...Just kidding.  But seriously, here are pictures of our "girl" bedroom.  I want to clarify for others who haven't read my previous blog.  No, we are not pregnant.  No, we don't know when we will be having children.  (My answer to that question will, from now on, be, "When God lets us know, we'll let you know.") :) Yes, our guest bedrooms were designed with children in mind...in the far future hopefully.  As my boss likes to say, we have "just in case" rooms.  :)  Our other bedroom is hunting themed.  This bedroom is done in a Mary Poppins theme.  Mary Poppins was my favorite movie as a child.  Heck, what am I talking about?  It's still my favorite movie.  My Dad will forever hate the song "Chim Chim Cheree" with as many times as I watched the movie as a child.  I watched it so often, that the film in the VHS disintegrated. I can even say "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious" backwards (like Julie Andrews says it, not how they say it in the Broadway version).  So, my bedroom at my parents house growing up was decorated in everything Mary Poppins.  I have two snowglobes, one cookbook, the original book by P.L. Travers, one of the follow-up books, Minnie Mouse dressed as Mary, a Mary Poppins figurine I bought at Disney World, the Mary Barbie doll dressed in the "Jolly Holiday" outfit, 9 framed stills from the movie, and the piesta resistance, a large tapestry my sister bought me for Christmas one year.  I knew that I wouldn't be able to just put all of this in a box, so I decorated a guest bedroom with all of it.  "It's practically perfect, in every way."  Hope you enjoy the pictures!
Before
After - I can't tell you what color that is other than purple.  I bought two gallons of it, and that was too dark.  So, I bought one gallon of white paint and mixed it all together.  Sorry if you like it, I couldn't even tell you the original purple's name.

Before
After - The "Umbrella" painting is a housewarming gift from one of my sister's best friends.  I LOVE it.  Fits in perfectly.

Guest Bathroom...Check

We've finished our guest bathroom!  The color is called "Mindful Gray," and we bought it at Sherwin Williams.  We needed it to be a very neutral color because we have a purple room on one side, a green room on the other, and a blue room leading into it.  Enjoy the pictures!

Before, looking into the bathroom.  We removed that border in about 20 minutes.  So that was great!
After - Color "Mindful Gray"
Before - Looking towards the living room...boring.
After - The light fixture is from Lowes.  The quote on the wall says "Cleanliness is next to Godliness."  We got it as a wedding present.  I've been hanging onto it for this long with this bathroom in mind. :)
After - This was just a plain old wall.  Looks much better now!

The "Boy" Bedroom

We have recently redecorated the two guest bedrooms we have in our house.  To forestall any questions, no we are not pregnant, and I do not know when we will have children.  However, we did decorate these rooms with children in mind.  We have a "girl" room and a "boy" room.  This way, whenever we do decide to have children, their room is ready for them.  We'll just need to buy baby furniture.  :)  I finally put the finishing touches on the boy room today.  Most of the decorations are from Nick's college room.  We decorated it as a hunting room.  The girl room is almost finished.  I just need to find the brackets to hang my Mary Poppins tapestry and it will be "practically perfect."  Our guest bathroom is also almost finished.  Nick needs to install the new switches and outlet, and I need to finish some art I'll be hanging.  But for now, I'll let you see the "boy" room. :)

The Beginning of the "Robertsonizing" of Our Home

Well, we closed on our house December 10th.  We moved in December 19th, Nick's 23rd birthday.  The week in between was full of painting.  We finished the living room and master bedroom at the time.  Here are some pictures of the before and after of our living room.  I'll post pictures of the bedroom later on.  We've also finished (almost) the two guest bedrooms, hallway, and guest bathroom, but those are all "half"-finished.  Enjoy!
